Privacy Notice

Aris (aris.social) is run by Aris Intelligence Pvt Ltd, Lal Mohan Bhattacharya Road, Kolkata 700014, India (“Aris”, “we”). This notice explains what personal data we collect when you use Aris, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. It is written to meet India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who Aris is for
Aris is for people aged 18 or older who live in India. If you are under 18, please do not sign up. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its data.
What we collect

What brands see
Brands see answers and reasons in aggregate, together with age band, gender and interests when you have provided them. Brands never receive your name, email address or contact details from us.
Your reasons can be shown to other people on Aris after they have answered the same decision, without your name. Write your reason the way you would want it seen.
Who processes data for us
We use service providers who process data only on our instructions: Supabase (sign-in and database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (sign-in emails), Arcjet (abuse protection), Google (sign-in and, with your consent, analytics) and Microsoft Clarity (with your consent, analytics). Some of them may store data outside India. We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. If you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for longer by law (for example, records of coin payouts). Anonymised results that cannot identify you may stay in brand reports.
Your rights
- See a summary of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct or update it
- Withdraw consent and delete your account and data
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or cannot do so
- Raise a complaint with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India

Changes
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
